Aquarium Fish clubs

Aquarium clubs or aquarium societies are becoming very popular in many cities around the world. They have been around for a very long time, but many are still unaware that they even exist.

The purpose of an aquarium club is the same as any other club: to allow people of similar interests to come together, network and raise awareness of the hobby in general. Are you having a problem keeping or breeding a certain species of fish? Well who better to get advice from than another hobbyist in your area that has been there and done that?

Aquarium Club Types

The most common type of Aquarium Club is the City or Regional Aquarium Club. These clubs span all aspects of the hobby and are a great source of information all around. The next most common is the Type Specific Aquarium Club. These clubs are slightly more specialized than the city or regional clubs. They usually specialize in a specific area of the hobby such as Saltwater Fish, Cichlids, Invertebrates etc. After that comes the Species Specific Aquarium Club.These clubs are the most specialized of the bunch. They concentrate on a specific species of fish. These clubs are geared more towards people interested in breeding a specific type of fish.
