I am adding some information regarding how Quorum sensing is related to plants as there is no available information about plants on Wikipedia page

Quorum sensing(QS) word was described when it was known that bacteria possess the ability to communicate. Knowledge about quorum sensing in the bacterial population is quite known to us. Hence, in the last few years, there are interactions shown between bacteria and eukaryotic hosts, like plants. These interactions are carried in presence of QS molecules which plays a major role in maintaining the pathogenicity of bacteria towards other hosts like humans. This mechanism can be understood by looking at the effects of N-acyl Homoserine Lactone (AHL) which is one of the QS-signalling molecules in Gram-negative bacteria, on plants.The model organism used is Arabidopsis thaliana.[1]

Role of AHLs having long Carbon chain (C12, C14) whose mechanism is still unknown and short Carbon chain (C4, C6, C8) was understood by G-protein Coupled Receptor.A phenomenon called AHL Priming which is a dependent signaling pathway enhanced the knowledge for long chain AHLs. Role of QS molecules was better explained with three categories: Host physiology based impact of QS molecules, ecological effects, Cellular Signaling. Calcium Signalling and Calmodulin has a great role in Short Chain AHLs response to Arabidopsis. Research were also conducted on Barley, Crop yam bean which reveals the AHLs determining the detoxification enzymes, called GST which was found less in yam bean.[2]

Looking towards developing new strategies based on plant-associated microbiomes it is aimed to improve the food supply and quality. It opens more new opportunity to learn about the inter-kingdom communication explaining the QS in humans. QS based regulatory systems are necessary to maintain plant diseases caused due to bacteria.[3]
