MilSuite serves over half a million Department of Defense contractors, civilians, and military personnel as secure social networking software. Developed in 2009 to connect the community through idea sharing, training and education, and discussion, milSuite adds over 12,000 new users per month. There are five platforms to milSuite that provide secure alternatives to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Wikipedia, and Reddit.

Members of the milSuite team are working to increase the awareness and the number of users in order to grow the community.


The Brief:

Who: Department of Defense contractors, civilians, and military professionals

What: Open-Source software with different outlets: milBook (Facebook) / milTube (Youtube) / milWire (Twitter) / milWiki (Wikipedia) / Eureka (Reddit)

When: Established in 2009 and constantly growing, currently boasting over 500K users

Why: To create a centralized location for Army personnel to hold discussions that were previously done through insecure online channels and connecting people to share ideas and innovations

How: A Common Access Card and correct account type
