Soundarya Santhanakrishnan

Soundarya Santhanakrishnan (born 4 June 1984) is a bharathanatyam dancer and a Carnatic vocal teacher in Jacksonville, FL.

Early Life

Soundarya was born in Madras, Tamilnadu (now Chennai). Soundarya was raised in Mumbai Maharashtra. She then moved to Tiruchirapalli in the state of Tamil Nadu. She moved to Jacksonville in 2012.

Career

Soundarya is the M.D. of her academy dedicated to bharathanatyam and Carnatic vocal. She is a fully trained and highly qualified Bharathanatyam (Indian Classical Dance) and Carnatic Vocal Music teacher who has successfully trained more than 100 students in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S.A. She has also imparted her knowledge of music and dance to students in Indian cities like Chennai ,Tiruchirapalli in the state of Tamil Nadu, and in Mumbai Maharashtra State.

Soundarya has experience of teaching all age groups and fully understands the needs of students She has the ability to quickly engage with them. Soundarya is energetic, friendly and has a loud voice that she uses to deliver fun and engaging dance lessons and music classes. She is fluent in English as well as Indian languages like Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam which is an advantage to do Bharathanatyam choreography.

Awards

Soundarya Received the Lifetime Achievement Awardee, For untiring efforts to attain perfection and fulfilling the vision of Kalam on 30th of July in 2016. Soundarya Received a Guinness World Record on 14th April 2017 for participating in the largest Bharathanatyam dance in Chennai, India.
