Michael Anthony DiSpezio is an author, educator, and public speaker on topics in science and science education. He was born in 1953 in Brooklyn, New York City and was educated at Brooklyn College and Boston University where he worked as a research assistant to Nobel Laureate, Albert Szent-Gyorgyi. He is an author of elementary, middle school and high school science textbooks and classroom ancillaries for publishers that include Addison-Wesley, Pearson Education, National Geographic Society and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. He has authored dozens of children's trade books on an assortment of science and puzzle topics. In 1994, he worked in the Middle East as part of the Israel/Jordan peace accord where he trained Arab counterparts in educational television production. He lives in Cape Cod and continues to write and speak on science, creativity, and applying brain research to increase classroom effectiveness.
