Kgale hill junior secondary school is situated in the capital city of Botswana, Gaborone. It is located in the western part of the capital city. On the road going to Mogoditshane and Gabane, you will find a location named block 9, and the school is located in the heart of that township. The school is located next to a famous primary school, called Boswa primary.
The school got its name from the nearby hill called Kgale hill, that is very visible as you enter the capital city, on the southern part of the city and Kgale hill school is located not far from that hill on the northern side of the hill (the school is about 10 km from the hill). The hill is well known around the country hence it was not difficult to name the school after this famous land mark.
The school was officially opened in 1996 by the then president of Botswana Sir Ketume Masire. But the school started to operate in 1994, with only one group of form 1 student (grade 8).
