Alexandra Jayne is a singer, song-writer and guitarist from Staffordshire. As a young girl she attended St. Dominic's High School for Girls in Staffordshire, England, UK, where she had singing lessons from the age of six, playing regular roles in musical theatre throughout her school life.[1]

She first picked up a guitar when she was 15 years and formed a band with a schoolmate. They played gigs in pubs around Shropshire, England. She has recorded two tracks at the Mad Hat Studio: The Show and All These Problems, the former featured on BBC Introducing. In 2012 she published a YouTube video covering the Gabrielle Aplin's interpretation of The Power of Love from Frankie Goes to Hollywood.[1]. On November 17th 2012 she played at the Christmas lights switch-on in Stafford, England. [2][1]

She is looking to release her debut EP in 2013.[1]

Musical style

She is a solo artist and admits her music is influenced by Bob Dylan, Joe Strummer, Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac and Primal Scream.[1]

She has regular gigs around Liverpool and has played the city's Oxjam Festival and sung in the Cavern Club.

Personal life

She is currently in her second year of psychology studies at Liverpool University in England.[1]
