History
[edit]Awaken group was found in 2009 by Kang So-Young. It first began in Los Angeles, California with a desire to transform culture and impact the world we live in to be a more beautiful, human place. The trigger for Awaken Group happened while she was Head of Finance for McKinsey North America, helping high value clients such as Microsoft. Kang wanted to see further impact from the consultancy work that is being delivered and she recognised that the human element was critical. This would include leadership evaluation and coaching of senior executives, the genesis for the Awaken Group. The focus being on Business Strategy, Leadership, and human centric design in order to provide a holistic and integrated solution for their clients. They first opened their first office in December 2009 and soon thereafter, opened a second office in Singapore in 2010.
