Sunil Prem Vyas is an Indian actor and film maker best known for portraying 17 characters in his debut movie 'The Artist Within'.
At 17, he founded his own theatre group Darpan Theatre Arts (DTA). Darpan Theatre group staged more than 17 plays written by eminent playwrights like Jorge Bernard Shaw, Vijay Tendulkar, Ratnakar Matkari, Molier, Mahesh Elkunchwar and Sunil Prem Vyas himself. Eventually, DTA evolved into Darpan Theater & Cine Arts (DTCA), as a film production house which made films like 'The Artist Within', 'Galti Se Mistake Ho Gayi' and 'Gandhi Ki Zameen Par'.His directorial film Take it Easy (Yaroon Samjha Karo) won the Best Children Film award at IFFP 2016. He is licensed paragliding pilot too.
Early Life
[edit]Sunil was born in Haryana and grew up in Mumbai. He completed his graduation in Physics from Mumbai University. During this period, he started performing with theatre groups like IPTA, Sangeet Kala Kendra, Ank, Natya Shala, Bhoomika and Urdu Kala Academy. Sunil received a Diploma in Film Acting from the Roshan Taneja School of Acting, Mumbai.
Career in Theatre & TV
Sunil has acted in 27 plays, scripted 11, translated 2 and directed 18. ‘Hum Nahi Sudhreinge’ has been his most popular play till date. His play ‘Kiss kiss Ko Pyar Karoon’ was produced by Atul Agnihotri and its title track was composed & sung by renowned music duos Sajid-Wajid.
TV series ‘Raaz’ on Sahara TV was Sunil’s first television break along with eminent actor Nirmal Pandey. ‘Tum Kya Jano Preet’, Mission Fateh, Crime Patrol were other T V shows where Sunil played the lead characters. Sunil has acted in 8 Tele-Serials and scripted 5.

Film career
[edit]Actor, Writer, Director The film The Artist Within written and directed by Sunil has a very unusual concept where 2 actors portray 22 characters in a one night story. 17 of these characters were portrayed by Sunil himself. The film Abhishapt (IPC 376) starring Sunil in lead role, won good reviews at East End London Film Festival. The other actors in the film were singer/actor Vasundhara Das and Dilshad Patel. In movie ‘Gandhi Ki Zameen Par’, he portrayed the lead protagonist as a journalist caught in communal riots. The movie showcased in Rome Film Festival 2012. His short film The Terrorist, based on Kashmir terrorism where Sunil plays the role of a terrorist has been showcased at international film festivals and has won appreciation from late Mr APJ Abdul Kalam (former president of India). His movie ‘Take it easy’ (2015) is a reflection of his amazing potential as a film maker. The film focuses on the parental and academic pressure on children in metropolitan cities. The film starred Vetarian artist and National Award winner Vikram Gokhale, Dipannita Sharma, Raj Zutshi, Virendra Saxena, Joy Sengupta, Brijenda Kala, Sulbha Arya, Anang Desai, Vijay Kashyap and Supriya Karnik. Songs were sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Sneha Pant. Sunil has written the lyrics of 2 songs.
