Francisco Soria Aedo (Granada, 1898 - Madrid, 1965) was a Spanish figurative painter who started in Granada under his maestro López Mezquita.[1] He obtained several important awards, like the second-place medal in the National Exposition in 1924 for his work Arab Types and the first place in the Barcelona International Exhibition of 1929 for an oil painting titled Christmas Eve in the Village. He was a professor of color at the San Fernando Higher School of Fine Arts of Madrid.[2]
His works are represented in the Sevilla Museum of Fine Arts and the Granada Museum of Fine Arts, gaining special attention for their representations of Andalusians, Castilians, or Moroccans. The works are characterized by their chromatic richness and the full effect of lighting achieved.
