Soapy Grey Matter is the unofficial quizzing community of Nirma University of Science and Technology, Ahmedabad. The club began as a quizzing page on Facebook on September 18,2010. As of December 31,2010, the page has 470 fans. The fans can answer to the posted questions, post questions of their own and share links on the wall of the page.
The page was started by Mayank Mujumdar and Siddharth Sheth, two students from third semester (Information Technology) after sensing that the quizzing scenario in the university was not very structured. Mayank became the administrator of the page and designed the logo for the same. The motto "Nos Must Teneo, Nos Mos Teneo" of the page was taken from the German mathematician David Hilbert's quote "Wir müssen wissen.Wir werden wissen." . Achal Shah, a student from final semester (Computer Engineering) and a very established quizzer became the second admin of the page for the sake of better management and administrator soon after the page was initiated.

Development
Mayank Mujumdar and Siddharth Sheth got idea of making a quizzing page for the institute after seeing several quizzing blogs and dedicated pages on facebook. They cited the idea to Achal Shah Akshay Shishoo and Nitin Pillai, who were among the active quizzers in the institute, who gave them a positive response.
A quizzing blog of the same name had been started earlier by some students, but it went into hiatus after they graduated. After that the quizzing activity was restricted to the occasional quizzes conducted by the various student clubs in the institute.
Naming
The peculiar name of the page has been the cause of wonder and amazement. The name of the page has a rather interesting story. The origin of the name can be traced to be a "Grey Matter Club for Quizzing" at St. Xavier's School, Loyola Hall; where Achal Shah was a student.
