Maya Riaz is a University of Toronto Mississauga, Social Sciences first-year student. She intends to major in Criminology and Sociolegal Studies, along with doing a double-minor in Sociology and Political Science. Additionally, Maya hopes to pursue the study of Law after completing her undergraduate degree. Taking the CCT110 course has allowed her to be able to look at academic writing from a much needed revitalized lens; as being in a social science program essentially entails a significant amount of academic writing. This course works to not only create a fundamental foundation of a clear and concise writing style, but also stresses the basic skills required when working with the implementation and manipulation of rhetoric in the academic community.
