History

[edit]

In its inaugural year, FRFC reached the heights of 5th in Dorset Division 4 (Dorset Senior League [5] meaning their quest for promotion would have to wait until the following year. This feat was achieved, in somewhat controversial circumstances; In the last game of the season, requiring a victory against the eventual league winners Corfe Mullen to secure the fourth promotion spot, a 2 goal lead was let slip after conceding a penalty and injury time offside goal (confirmed since by video replays,) resulting in finishing 5th for the second season running, but benefiting from the restructuring of the League system, secured promotion on request.

The Club has had distinguished success in Cup Competitions, finishing as a losing Semi-finalist in the 2008/09 season and falling in the quarter final stage the following.

On the 14th July 2010 the FRFC five-aside team secured the clubs first silverware, winning the Wednesday night Pelhams Park league .[6], with a distinguished record, only tasting defeat once during the whole season.

In the summer before the start of the 2010/11 season an exciting new chapter in the history of FRFC, they entered into the realms of Sunday League Football. Joining the Dorset Sunday Division one and taking on a raft of new players including Chris 'big Fletch' Lawson and a new manager Mark Elliot.
