History

[edit]

Inception (2008–2010)

[edit]

This Side Up began with the braing storning of Mike and Matt wanting to make a band in 2008. By the end of the year Mike had successfully found a drummer for the group that they were trying to make. In March 2009 Mike and Matt had met up with their drummer Dustin, who happen to be Mike's cousin. At first they began as a pop punk that did covers songs to warm up. Eventually there was disagreement between a few band members. They had argued about changing the style they wanted to play. By January 2010, Matt quit the band due to personal issues with the drummer. By the summer of 2010, Matt had started to focus on a new band, A Days Defeat. One night he got a message from a buddy of his that wanted to make a band that would later consist of 7 members. While Matt and Mike worked with the new band, they had drummer issues (again). The band complained that the current drummer, Luc lived too far. Though the drummer they had in mind wasn't on good terms with dj, clean vocals for a days defeat. Having Luc Return to Drumming. Though the band was short lived, in November A days defeat decided to call hiatus. By December, Dj declared that the band was offically done. During A Days Defeat's hiatus, Matt took it upon himself to ask Andrew if he would create a band with him.By December 4 Matt, Andrew, Max, and Luc had met up for a jam session. The Band Name is derived off a box that Luc saw in his garage.
