It is the first popular movement for demarchy, a form of democracy in which a nationally representative group of citizens are randomly selected by sortition to make the decisions in the National Assembly in place of professional politicians chosen in elections.
Foundation
[edit]Newid was founded by the writer, designer and political theorist Martin Davies at the Laugharne Weekend Festival on 5th April 2009.
