Hi,

I've lived in Birmingham all my life - born in Bankes Road, Small Heath, Birmingham in 1966

I did a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked at Austin Rover, initially as a sponsored student, from 1984 to 2001.

From 2004 to 2012, I was the Liberal Democrat Councillor for Moseley and Kings Heath Ward, Birmingham. During this period I was from 2009 to 2012, the Cabinet member for Leisure, Sport and Culture.

I have a wide range of interests, one of which is the local history of Birmingham. I've have a special interest in post-1960 cultural history of Birmingham. I've started occasionally ading information to Wikipedia pages relating to post-1960 cultural hisotry of Birmingham
