Marlapadu is a village in Tangutur Mandal,Prakasam district ,of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh nearby to the villages Nidamanur, Prakasam district , Ponduru, Prakasam district , Kondapi also nearby to the Ongole town within 15 Kms

Geography and Climate

Marlapadu has a Tropical savanna climate .The weather varies considerably,depending on the seasonal periods .July to September is the seasons for tropical rains,which play a major role in determining the climate of the village , and the village recieves heavy rainfall from Southwestern summer monsoon during these months. Summer lasts from March to June. The range of the average temperature is generally 15 degreeCelsius (59 F),during the winter , to 40degreeCelsius (104 F) in summer.The average rainfall 560 millimeters (22.0 in).

History

After post independence in 1970 Ongole District was formed by carving out some parts from nearby 4 districts (Kurnool,Guntur,Nellore,Kadapa) and in 1972 the district was renamed as Prakasam district in the memory of Tanguturi Prakasam Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and till 1985 there were some changes in constituencies,mandals and atlast marlapadu was considered in the constituency of Kondapi (Assembly constituency) and of mandal of Tangutur as per the year (1985~present) Category:Villages in Prakasam district
