Bio
[edit]About me
[edit]My main hobbies include building custom keyboards, playing League of Legends, watching anime, gifting people items that have my face printed on them, and listening to mostly Mac Miller's music. Psychology researchers have used people who play League of Legends as research subjects to gain more insight on how people build mental models.[1] Building custom keyboards started out as a one time thing, then quickly became a problem for me financially. The strangest thing about me is definitely the amount of things I've managed to have my face printed on. Other than that, I'm just another ordinary, antisocial, computer loving, human being.
My Wikipedia interests
[edit]if I'm active on Wikipedia in the future, I'll most likely just focus on fleshing out a page about myself. Besides that, the only other thing I could see myself working on, would be a page on the custom keyboard hobby. The hobby has been growing quite a bit in these past few years but, there are no official Wikipedia pages for the most famous people in the hobby, or the most significant keyboard part brands besides Cherry, which isn't very popular among people who build their own. The only thing that would make creating a custom keyboard Wikipedia page difficult, is just the amount of variety for every aspect within the hobby there is to choose from. The only people I could see myself regularly looking up on Wikipedia for information, would be my favorite music artists Mac Miller, Aminé, and Marc Rebillet to name a few.
Article evaluation
[edit]As long as I can remember, seeing penguins has brought me joy. They're not a very practical household pet so, I've only managed to see them inside a zoo, or on TV. I decided to evaluate Wikipedia's coverage on penguins, out of my own curiosity. Penguins as an entire species have quite a bit of information written already, so I decided to narrow it down to Wikipedia's article on Fiordland penguins, and focus on the article's citations, voice, and age of information.
Citations
[edit]There is a decent amount of citations on the page. Citations and references are listed at the bottom, and it is clear where the cited information came from. The article seems to have an appropriate amount of citations for the amount of information written. I see no issues with how citations were used when writing the article.
Voice
[edit]The article seemed very neutral overall. It seemed focused on spreading information on Fiordland penguins, without pushing an alternative agenda. The only thing I saw mentioned that could be interpreted as biased was how human disturbance was listed as a factor in their classification as vulnerable to extinction. Besides that one point, the article seems to be as neutral as possible.
Age
[edit]The age of information for the article seems like it would be the best place to look to improve. About half of the citations used are dating back to the 80's and 90's. There was one citation that was referenced from within the past year but, all the others seem to be much older on average. more modern information on this type of penguin would be greatly appreciated.
Summary
[edit]Overall, I would say this page is a little bare but informative. There isn't a ton of information written about the Fiordland penguins but, it is at least sourced fairly well. The page didn't try to push any overly negative or positive views about that type of penguin. More information, and more recently sourced information, would be an improvement to the article.
