E-governance: rethinking Public administration in the Philippines

Many Filipinos are keenly aware of the need for a clear framework of government in the Philippines, as the true meaning of democracy is still being discovered. In many administrative settings, the use of electronic devices in governance has proven to be viable. The need for the Philippine government to change to electronic governance to respond faster to the public demand for high-quality service is outlined in this article. To deepen the interaction between the government and its constituents, the authors envision a government that employs ICTs, promotes information literacy imbued with cultural values, and democratizes information governance.
