Jimmy Tatro is an American YouTube personality and actor known for his satirical and comedic videos dealing with college greek life and his own personal life. Born in Los Angeles, California, Tatro attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California.[1]After graduating from high school in 2010, he attended the University of Arizona and was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.[2] In 2013 Tatro dropped out of the University of Arizona and moved back to Los Angeles to pursue entertainment full time after signing with Big Frame Studios.[3]
YouTube Channels

[edit]With his satirical and humorous style, Tatro broke onto the YouTube scene on November 4, 2010 with thejimmytatrochannel.[4]His first video,"Frat Life", became an overnight viral sensation, amassing over 3.3 million views in two years.[5] With "Frat Life" being such a hit, Tatro began to form his own niche in the YouTube community by continuing to upload videos every monday making fun of the stereotypes associated with college greek life.[6]
LifeAccordingToJimmy
[edit]Wanting to expand his comedic horizons beyond just greek life, Tatro created his second YouTube channel, LifeAccordingToJimmy, on November 23, 2011.[7][8] In addition to posting videos related to college greek life like he did with thejimmytatrochannel, LifeAccordingToJimmy features multiple playlists covering a wider range of topics. Nonetheless, Tatro’s satirical and humorous ways continued to be evident even as he expanded his subject matter. LifeAccordingToJimmy quickly surpassed his previous YouTube channel’s success and, by April of 2013, the channel had reached 827,138 subscribers and 79,105,402 video views.[9]
Film Career

[edit]In 2013, Jimmy Tatro and his close friend Christian A. Pierce were casted to star in Total Frat Movie.[10] Tatro announced his future role in the film on February 11, 2013 when he posted The Missing Piece to his LifeAccordingToJimmy channel. Tatro and Pierce were cast for the lead roles because the director and producer of Total Frat Movie decided casting YouTube personalities would be cheaper.[11] Also, because of their large online following, Tatro's YouTube channel would serve as a very cost effective way to advertise.[12]
