Climate in Ivory Coast is mostly warm and humid, ranging from equatorial in the southern coasts to tropical in the middle and semiarid in the far north.

Ivory Coast is a transition zone between the humid equatorial climate and the dry tropical climate. It is divided into two main zones: the south and the north. The hygrometry rate, which can sometimes approach 100% in the south and drop to 20% in the north during harmattan weather, marks the difference between these two parts (cool and dry wind from the Sahara).

In the south, below Yamoussoukro, the climate is equatorial and therefore very humid. With temperatures ranging from 29° to 32° Celsius.

Seasons

In the south, there are four season:

• from April to mid-July: the great rainy season, with frequent rainfall and numerous storms,
• from mid-July to September: the short dry season, where the sky remains overcast,
• from September to November: the small rainy season, with some small rainfall and,
• from December to March: the big dry season, marked by the northern trade winds (harmattan).

In the north, there is a dry tropical climate, with temperatures varying between 28° and 37°Celsius.

There are only two main seasons:

• from June to septembe: the great rainy season, due to the humid trade winds and the great dry season, which
• from October to May: the great dry season, which runs.
