A Brief History
[edit]The sport of UK Hovercraft Racing can be trased back to 1966 when a group of enthusiasts from the Isle of White got together and founded the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain. Since then the number and types of racing hovercraft have expanded and today there are many differnt hull designs, formulas and setups.
Formulas
[edit]Formulas are devided up based on the restrictions listed below:
Formula 1
[edit]Craft whos engine capacity (Engine displacement) is complient with the folowing:
Two stroke engines of total capacity of 500cc or geater.
Four Stroke engines of total capacity of 750cc or greater.
Formula 2
[edit]Craft whos engine capacity is complient with the folowing:
Two stroke engines of capacity less than 500cc and greater then 250cc.
Four Stroke engines of total capacity less than 750cc and greater than 500cc.
Formula 3
[edit]Craft whos engine capacity is complient with the folowing:
Two stroke engines of total capacity less than or equal to 250cc.
Four Stroke engines of total capacity less than or equal to 500cc.
Formula 35
[edit]Craft whos engine capacity is complient with the folowing:
Four Stroke engines of a total horsepower that does not excede 35HP.
Engine revs not to exceed 5500.
Formula 503

Single fan integrated design.
Standard Rotax 503 or Rotax 447 engines.
Standard Rotax exaust.
Standard Rotax cillinder head.
The craft must way a minimum of 125KG excluding the driver.
Formula 1X
[edit]Craft must have a minimum of two one of which must be for lift only.
The thrust engine must be either a 2 stroke up to 500cc or a four stroke up to 750cc.
The thrust engine must be air cooled.
Formula Junior
[edit]Partisipents in this formular must be aged between 11 and 16.
Junior craft must be one of the following formulars:
F3
F503
F35
