Maribel Romero is a linguist and professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Konstanz. She researches semantics and pragmatics, in particular on areas including quantifiers, questions, and counterfactuals.[1][2]
Biography
[edit]Romero earned her PhD in linguistics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1998 with a dissertation entitled, "Focus and Reconstruction Effects in Wh-Phrases."[1] She has worked at the University of Pennsylvania, in addition to her current position at the University of Konstanz.[2]
Awards
[edit]In 2022, Romero was elected to the Academia Europaea.[2]
