A dive on the ocean of greatness mirrors a story narrated by a resident of Ugenya demonstrating the leadership shaping changes in the great Ugenya ecosystem. story is penned in kateg clan of Jera sublocation in remote siaya county( County of giants) where a young man with an humble but inspirational upbringing is fighting odds to set a legacy. The story illuminates the rossy gene of leadership that has changed Ugenya ecosystem by highlighting a certain family pedigree of notable impact.. The young man grew up watching this family and ofcourse their impeccable character and leadership philosophy inspired him to a dream of greatness. He believes that People learn more from what they see practiced than what they hear or are told and that is exactly what true role modelling entails.Mzee Mboto was a strict disciplinarian with heart warming sense of humor but loathed dishonesty to grave .wrong was wrong irrespective of who commits it and this informed the move by Mzee Alex Mboto sending away the then member of Parliament Archbishop Stephen Ondiek from his home due to his deceptive ideologies. He was a tough giant who dared a wrestle if provoked but on the flipside a people person ever known(amiable and outgoing demeanour) with easily likeable and Sociable appeal that made him source friends globally from both the Janitors and kings earning him title "Ruoth rawat kendo Ja osiep".Home of Mboto hosted dignitaries notably former Mp Mathews ogutu and Nyanza Provincial commissioner among many others whereas his son drawing from the same pond of influence has hosted governors,Mps,corporate executives, Ambassador s among other notable dignitaries including accomplished professionals across disciplinaries. In interaction with him he says Mzee worked so hard and he would always wake up early ,pray in his command post where he had built his coffin prehumously and after prayers he would go take care of cattle ,poultry and his special dog( sombe) et al before going to farm where he would be till around 9 am and came back prepare for his barazas and this is a routine he maintained till he was promoted to glory .He had introduced many transformative policies in agriculture , education as well as health and as such was instrumental in initiation of harambee schools ,cattle dips ,leased cows, dispensaries etc that has since helped people of Ugenya and beyond not forgetting the number he paid for school fees or helped secure education which he was passionate about.cleanliness is next to Godliness defines this perfectionist who will check the plate you serve the food on before appreciating the food itself and at times he would send his wife back to cook again if the plates were dirty .Mzee loved rhumba and Nyatiti songs from ogwang lelo kokoth who was a local nyatiti player and was sang by many including osumba rateng( Sega Sega orchestre band.He loved news and by 6:59 evening he was already on his couch waiting to catch up with news from Voice of Africa( KBC) before he eats and retires early to bed except in periods when he will spend till late shelling maize and enjoying storytelling sessions with his family.Mzee was brave, neutral and no nonsense Man whose children knew the wrath of crossing his paths. He sensed your mistakes early and he would call you from far on a thunderous voice shouting in Luo dialect"( aseneni chon )" .chief Alex Mboto was a man of Means and accomplished in mighty ways. Mzee mboto never bought bread or even any agricultural products for he had it all and with his generosity his home was full to capacity with those seeking help more than even the area Mp's home( member of parliament) .As opposed to the believe that leaders were to receive gifts he instead opened his gate large for any voice of lack and helped to his level best but you had to prove you ain't lazy since he hated laziness .His friend the late Martin oloo obel ( father to trailblazing medical professor Arthur Otieno Obel) also practiced similar ideals and one of important mutual practice was they both built their coffins before death and were all men of means and pride which was sourced from hardwork and diligence in service to humanity. His family never went to hospital and its Mzee who injected them whenever they got ill ( very painful jab called procaine penicillin which after stroking buttocks he will laugh while saying in luo "rudh bok pieri aka yath kere e kidienge dendi "and advised best nutrition which was readily available from all sorts of fruits ,vegetables and precious meals in his home.Mzee believed a home with food is a home with peace and indeed I witnessed the most peaceful home i cant since relate to. Things fall apart when Mzee died and the his son ( current chief)was struggling in Nairobi so family had to survive under the tutelage of of Mzee's wife who just like her husband was a strict disciplinarian binging up her flock under Christian doctrine thus it was mandatory to read bible and pray before any activity of the day.Mzee's wife (Maria Adhiambo Mboto) was a nice mother to many ( commonly referred to as mamji (mama ya watu) and its till her grey days that sickness took tall of her and she couldn't play her real ideals well. Mr John Mboto the son of chief Alex Mboto took over the mantle of leadership from his father whom he loved most and has always referenced in most of his work( like father like son he extended his daddy's legacy yonder). Mr John Mboto just like his father is another special gem who is a no nonsense but so loving and caring.John mboto loves people and his selflessness is unmatched as this can be best testified by those who have had the privilege to interact with him in life ( epic generosity). Dennis Owuor ( grandson to the Royal family ) was born early 90s in ugenya ,Ralak from kateg Rero village and is Son to senior chief John Mboto who happens to be the son of the late senior retired soldier turned chief Alex Mboto Ongira ( grandfather).Mr Owuor is an established scholar in medical field with utmost passion in social change advocacy and contemporary writing. Mr Owuor boasts of a very enriched history in service delivery having dedicated himself to people centric impact at both healthcare and community. He has worked at kenyatta National Hospital ( kenya) ,many private facilities,NGOs as well as research organisations and confirms enviable record in research assistance having worked with great professors the likes of Professor Omondi Oyoo and uncountable medical specialists in kenya.kateg where he owes his ancestry confirms to be the basket of prestige in Ugenya with his great grandfather Ongira son of Odero revered as the most reputable leader in Ugenya constituency on whose footsteps many leaders have walked . Alex Mboto (grandfather)was a principled leader and for those who hails from the larger Ugenya constituency especially North East Ugenya it's embedded in public knowledge and memory that there hasn't been an ardent administrator matching this affluent luo leader who was a respected servant leader and whose greatest pillar was INTEGRITY. In 80s upto early 2000s people left from all walks of life to go benchmark in his farm where modern agricultural practice was first evidenced in Ugenya and his son John Mboto is the current senior chief emeritus of the revered North East Ugenya on whose transformative legacy Ugenya people are celebrating him as the first chief to reinstate total security and spirit of ubuntu in service.Dennis has done many articles on contemporary matters and indeed so intentional on social change, an area he best describes as" the focal point of his purpose".Mr Owuor also well known as "atego magwar rwath oyingo loch" is from both Puny and Deje clan which is reffered to as the "blessed womb" having sired uncountable phenomenal leaders and

Scholars both of local and international importance.Dennis son of kateg clan is currently eyeing a position in his backyard where he says is his way of giving back to his society that since time immemorial has always been defined by excellence. His mantra remains" bolruok gi riwruok ma onge pogruok ema kelo dongruok e piny ka watiyo matek kanyakla".
