Majicmarty'' is a former high-level publishing professional with skills in writing, design and production who's devoting his retirement to his first love, blues music and the musicians who create it.
A native of Rhode Island, his interest began in childhood when exposed to first-generation blues superstars at the Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals and continued with a long residence within the belly of the blues community in Chicago, where he studied harmonica under the tutelage of one of the top musicians in the world.
Since beginning his transition a few years ago, he's established himself as an authority in the field through more than 400 album reviews with his work appearing both online and in print for several blues magazines and blues society publications.
He's a member former of the board of directors of the Charlotte (NC) Blues Society, senior writer at Blues Blast Magazine and a columnist for Chicago Blues Guide and a contributor to The Groove, the monthly newsletter published Crossroads Blues Society (IL).
