Brandi Dice ...
Brandi Dice is a gallery-owning, self-taught artist. Dice was born and raised in New Lothrop, Michigan—an extremely small town outside of the Flint,Michigan.
Dice always knew that she had a passion for art. She looked to art as an outlet from her small town, farm life. In high school, she took every art class she could. Following high school, Dice studied business at Kalamazoo Valley in Michigan.
In 2003, Brandi Dice moved from Michigan to Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dice began to take accounting classes at the local Spartanburg Community College. In 2005, she began selling artwork locally while working in a local frame shop. When the owner of the frame shop retired, Dice took the opportunity to open her own gallery and frame shop.
Brandi Dice was able to open her own art gallery with a personal loan. The Art Lounge was opened on October 10, 2011. In the founding of The Art Lounge, Dice strived to avoid the stereotypical stuffy art gallery. She seeks to keep art fun and original. She participates in the city of Spartaburg's monthly artwalk and her own wine and paint nights.
Dice’s own artwork ranges in a wide variety of subject matter. Buildings tend to be her favorite, but she enjoys putting a flare on just about anything—wine bottles and cars included. She uses acrylic paints. She paints to make people smile. Her artwork has been described as whimsical.
Brandi Dice is an artist and gallery-owner without any formal training. She is a self-taught artist and local phenomenon.
