Gender differences in writing is a very contended form of research in the field of communications. The leading pioneers in the field of Gender communications have been Otto Fenichel and Karen Horney. Gender can be biological or physical. The biological differences can be grouped under the umbrella term sex differences. Meanwhile the physical differences can be in terms of sexual dimorphism.

Red hair and blue eyes are more common in females than in males (red more so than blond). On average females also have a lighter colored skin and are more likely to have green eyes
