[1]The impact of Canada's longest university strike on life at York The protest at York University ended after 142 days[2]. This was the longest strike in Canadian universities history, and there was plenty of drama—from students holding a sit-in in the senate chambers to members of the union protesting at president Rhonda Lenton's residence to the administration threatening strike employees with retaliation[3]. Tensions rose over the course of four months, till the new Progressive Conservative regional government enacted back-to-work measures on July 25. Nevertheless, while the picket lines have vanished, the anger has not.
