Also, I reverted your edit to the Opeth article because Facebook is not a reliable source. If you think I did anything incorrectly, feel free to correct me. Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 23:53, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
- You're right; I'll remove the MySpace link. And policy dictates that social networking sites should be avoided, because 'official' sites are hardly neutral on the subject matter. Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 18:15, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Good work! Oh, and thanks for being so courteous and civil. There's no possible way to say how appreciated it is. Thanks and happy new year, Master of Puppets Care to share? 21:25, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Opeth
[edit]Myspace is okay for article but basically anything else isn't (aside from the official site). You also removed the band template so I had to restore that. But just so you know Myspace is okay, but please try to refrain from other External links. sorry for the missunderstanding. Happy New Year :) Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 21:35, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. :D To tell you the truth, the article isn't even close to being done. I still have a lot of work to do before I take it to FA, and believe me, I will. By the way, you shouldn't have those images on your sub-page, you don't have the copywrite to them (not all at least) so you might want to take them of before you get bit by an admin or something. Cheers. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 01:15, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- See this for templates: Template:Navbox Musical artist, that shows you everything. Or you could just look at the ones I have made, they are on my created pages subpage. It shouldn't say discography just because it already links to the full discog. Let's say Black Sabbath was waaaaaaaay to long of an article, and we had to have sections linking to other ones with just a generalization of what the topic is on. If there was a scetion in Black sabbath named "The Ian Gillien" period, wouldn't it look funny if it said "Selected Ian Gillian period". That doesn't have anything to do with a discog, but I think you get the point. Peace. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 21:52, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I don't really know how else to explain it betterm but really the point is that "Selected" shouldn't be in the section header. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 22:00, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Opeth Discography
[edit]I'd suggest bringing it up on the talk page of that article, found Talk:Opeth here. Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 21:37, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Eftekasat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. brewcrewer (yada, yada) 04:47, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Sorry that your article got deleted. As for the refs that you provided on my talk, the second one didn't open so I can't say anything on that. The first one, although it mentioned the band in the article, it didn't provide substantial coverage that a band requires to be notable. The article wasn't specifically about them. It is probably frustrating that as they are an Egyptian band, English language sources are hard to come by. But if you have an non-English reliable source that gived the band substantial coverage, it might pass. Check out WP:MUSIC. Best, --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 16:24, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
RE:Eftekasat
[edit]Hey again. See, the thing with bands isn't proving that they exist; it's proving that they're notable that is the key point, and often the trickiest. There's an entire page on band notability here which lists the criteria for inclusion on Wikipedia. However, as Brewcrewer pointed out, since they're Egyptian they may not be notable in English circles but could be notable in Egypt. If they've had any hits on Egyptian radio charts, or if they've sold lots of albums in Egypt, then if you can find a source saying that the article could stay. Oh, and Myspace isn't a reliable source on it's own, sorry. Anyway, hope that helps! Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 20:43, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- This one is good; actually, it is a pretty reliable reference. However, the other one won't open for me; try linking it again? If they're both good feel free to go ahead and create the article. I'll also make you the references while I'm waiting. Master of Puppets Care to share? 04:00, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
<ref>{{citeweb|url=http://www.dailystaregypt.com/article.aspx?ArticleID=4921|title=Bold fusion: Eftekasat puts innovation over tradition|author=Jered Stuffco| accessdate=2008-01-02|date=2007-1-11|Publisher=Daily News Egypt}}</ref>
- Just copy that and place it after the part of the article you want to cite. Master of Puppets Care to share? 04:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- I can't undelete it, as I'm not an administrator, so you could just recreate it. Also, the citation is needed to keep the article away from deletion; it proves notability. So, if you're writing about how critics have talked about Eftekasat, you can say "Eftekasat was called a 'bold innovator'"(citation). That's called sourcing your statements. Hope that helps, Master of Puppets Care to share? 04:23, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- If you copy and paste it into an article it should work. Master of Puppets Care to share? 04:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- See WP:IMAGE for full guidelines; basically, it all depends on the license of the image, as if it isn't free use you can't use it on Wikipedia (that would be copyright infringement). Master of Puppets Care to share? 06:36, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'll look for you. Also, I put that article up for deletion because it had no references and I couldn't find any in 5 minutes of searching; if the deletion is contested I'll run it through the WP:AFD process. Thanks for bringing that to my attention! Master of Puppets Care to share? 19:40, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for telling me; articles like that should usually be avoided because of WP:CRYSTAL. And what I'm doing is assigning articles to deletion categories; I sometimes WP:SPEEDY them, while other times I put them up for WP:AFD. Master of Puppets Call me MoP!☺ 17:17, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Eftekasat Pics
[edit]Can i upload any of the pics on this webpage?! http://www.last.fm/music/Eftekasat/+images How about the image on this one?! http://www.eftekasat.com
- Yes, but you should avoid uploading copyrighted pics, and those pics u have there are certainly copyrighted, anyway, if you really need to upload copyrighted pics like those, make sure to use a Free Use Rationale WP:FUR or they will be deleted. Yzmo talk 14:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Mouled Sidi El Latini
[edit]{{helpme}}
I created a page but then i discovered that it was missing a "-"... I know this may sound trivial but Wikipedia should be perfect, you know!! Anyway, can an admin please delete this page Mouled Sidi El Latini?! Sorry for the incovenince, wont happen again :) Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 09:27, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Merging
[edit]Yes, the page will end up at Mouled Sidi El-Latini. The point is to merge the histories of the articles, which is required under the GFDL for reasons we don't need to go into. That is, this history and this history will be merged into one place. If you want to change the title of an article in future, click the "move" tab which is at the top of each page. For help on that see WP:MOVE. Also, yeah, you can use the "on/offline" userbox if you want (it's not mine anyway), just stick this in: {{user in}} and change it to off when you go offline (I keep forgetting to change it) --Closedmouth (talk) 10:29, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
2008 in Music
[edit]Hi CerpinTaxt... What's up?! can you please explain why you removed The Mars Volta's album from 2008 in music... oh, and welcome to Wikipeida ;) Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 18:12, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Because there were two instances. It's still there. Look at the history of the page. CerpinTaxt (talk) 18:22, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Good Thing Going - Rhonda Vincent.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Good Thing Going - Rhonda Vincent.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:57, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Eftekasat.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Eftekasat.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:56, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

- No problem, just trying to help where ever i can, I had that same thing on my talk page but took it off. I decided to keep the blue block on there though.Earthbendingmaster (talk) 15:56, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello, would you mind commenting on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Alice in Chains? The FAC discussion was not closed, but it was re-started by the FA director. Fell free not to, that would be fine by me. Thank you, —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 22:03, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was wondering if you wanted to read the article and support or object for it becoming featured. Sorry for the confusion. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 04:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, there isn't much left for Opeth. It is under peer review, and is waiting for one more reviewer (User:Indopug) and then it is going straight to FAC. That is alright if you don't comment on AiC, but you better on Opeth, lol! :D By the way, have you read the re-writen Opeth article? —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 05:13, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
