Cole Rebora
Cole Rebora is a professional Freestyle skiier based out of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He was born Jan 6, 1992. Rebora is consistently cited in newspaper articles for being one of the first skiers from the region to make it to the national spotlight in the sport[1].
Personal Life
[edit]Cole Rebora attended Glenbard West High School for the first semester of classes each year, subsequently transferring to Crested Butte Academy his freshman and sophomore years, and Western Sports Academy his junior year. His Senior year he did not transfer, and skiied in the midwest throughout the winter season. Rebora also played running back for the 2009 2nd place Glenbard West High School Hilltoppers, losing to Wheaton Warrenville South High School in the state championship game in triple overtime [2].
Skiing Results
[edit]Placed 4th in the Midwest Open, 4th in the Swiss Valley Winter Jam, 1st in the Copper Mountain Open, 1st in the Vail Freeride Championships, 8th in the Winter X Games and 3rd in the Taos National Freeskiing Championships[3].
Rebora will be skiing for Weber State starting in the winter of 2010-2011.
Injury
[edit]On March 24th, 2010, Rebora suffered a fall during the Alpine Meadows Big Air Competition. During a 1080, he fell face-first into the landing, causing significant lacerations about the face, as well as a broken nose. He spent two days in the hospital from the incident and subsequently took three weeks off from his previously successful season.
