The article Unintended consequences used language that was inappropriate for Wikipedia. There was uncertainty in the History section. The author noted that the term "unintended consequences" had been used "back to at least" a specific point in time. Using that term concludes that the author is unsure of when the term was coined. Under History, the author makes the claim that the term "unintended consequences" are a result of human beings' self-centeredness; however, there is no reference to where this information was found. There is a lack of explanation in the section including the Causes of unintended consequences; it is broad and vague. More research about this topic would greatly benefit the audience. The discussion about pornographic actresses under Unexpected drawbacks is unnecessary and inappropriate. One of the biggest problems in the organization of this article is the uneven distribution of information. There is minimal information about unexpected benefits, but excessive examples for unexpected drawbacks. In addition, the Perverse results section is virtually the same concept as Unexpected drawbacks. That part is unnecessary. Environmental intervention is only another example, and should be either eliminated or added in under Examples. The reference for Abuse proof prescription-painkillers may spur heroin habit is a Yahoo.com reference, thus it is not an acceptable source to use in Wikipedia.
