Monesha Jemia Carter "also known as" MJ Carter (born February 27, 1978) is an American journalist and educator. She is a former employee of Fox News Channel and The Washington Post. Carter, currently teaches Creative Writing at KIPP and is a freelancer for Hoodline.[1]
Early Life and Education
[edit]Carter, born in 1978 is of African-American decent. She grew up in Duarte, California and attended schools in Duarte and near by Pasadena, California. Carter was Senior Class President of the Class of 1996 at Pasadena High School and a member/princess on the 1995 - 1996 Homecoming Court. She graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C., in the fall of 2003. Carter majored in Political Science with a minor in Broadcast Journalism.
Career

Carter is a fulltime teacher at KIPP in the Northern California Region. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalist.

Personal Life
[edit]Carter has a son who studies psychology and plays basketball for Dickinson State University.
