Irakli Beridze
[edit]Irakli Beridze is an international civil servant (from Georgia) currently working for the Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) as the Head of the UNICRI Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. [1] In 2014 Beridze initiated one of the first United Nations Programme on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. The work conducted by the Centre addresses AI related governance, security, crime prevention and human rights issues, as well as global solutions through use of AI and related technologies to fulfil the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The primary focus of his work is AI-related crimes and other threats to security and development, as well as understanding the benefits of these technologies. and exploring their use[2] for contributing to a future free of violence and crime.[3][4] [5]
Beridze advocates the use of AI, only by respecting universal principles of human rights, justice, democracy, the rule of law, the principles of fairness, accountability, explainability and transparency.Cite error: The opening <ref> tag is malformed or has a bad name (see the help page).
