Hello my name is Michelle Kaye and I am the Archives and Collections Assistant at Glasgow School of Art.

Work

Before joining Glasgow School of Art, I worked in various museum and archive roles at the National Trust for Scotland and The University of Glasgow, one of which was as Project Assistant for the Stoddard-Templeton Corporate and Design Archive, the archive of one of the world’s most successful carpet manufacturers.

Education

I have a First Class Honours Degree in History of Art and Slavonic Studies from the University of Glasgow.

Interests

I have a personal interest in

  • Art Nouveau and “Glasgow Style”
    • architecture
    • furniture and interiors
    • decorative arts
  • 20th century textile design

Responsibilities

I am responsible for:

  • answering enquiries
  • helping readers and assisting visitors with their research
  • managing the searchroom
  • cataloguing and repackaging GSA's archive collections
  • managing the ACC blog

I am the first port of call at the Archives and Collections Centre.
