My name is Mike Cavelano and I am new to Wikipedia.
I am 38 years old and work as an engineer.
I recently edited my first page based on some background searches I did and I was accused by someone of being the subject of the page I edited. Not a great introduction to Wikipedia. As I have read through the rules and instructions I have learned that you are supposed to give folks that edit the benefit of the doubt. I guess not everyone has read (or understands) those rules. Don't worry though, I am not discouraged. Quite the opposite.
I stumbled on Wikipedia searches while doing some research on oncologists for my aunt who is suffering from colon cancer. It was my original intent to just "pop in" to get some information. However, given my interaction with the aforementioned person, it will now be my hobby to troll in the background checking on edits he makes in order to do my best to make sure they are free of bias and malicious intent.
As my grandmother was fond of saying, "mess with the bull and you get the horns".
Will add to this page as I get more comfortable with the Wikipedia format.
