I’m a freelance writer and editor and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. I enjoy swimming, yoga, hiking, writing fiction, attending live theater, and making delicious food to enjoy with friends and family.
To write about something, you have to know about it, so I find myself on Wikipedia almost daily educating myself about various topics for my work. Sometimes I get great information. Other times, not so much. For years, I was too chicken to sign up and participate in the project, but I recently made my first grammatical/clarity edits on an article and thought, “Why did this take me so long?” as well as the tired/tried/true cliché, “If you’re not part of the solution…”
Conflict of Interest I have a conflict of interest: I’m engaged in part-time, hourly work for Sybase. Sybase has hired me to write and improve articles about its products and concepts related to its products. As I personally believe in the Wikipedia project, I will try my best to provide objective, neutral information. However, my perspective may be skewed. I welcome any feedback in that regard.
What’s a wapiti? Look it up.
