BHUPESH HADA

Brigadier Bhupesh Hada, SC[1], VSM[2], is a highly decorated serving officerof the Indian Army[3], who is also an accomplished Mountaineer, Trekker, Blogger,Adventurer, Biker, Marathoner, Underwater Diver and a Die Hard Paratrooper. He is a member of the 10 battalion of the Para (Special Forces). He has been awarded the Shaurya Chakra, and Vishisht Seva Medal for his various acts of gallantry displayed in anti-terrorist operations and for distinguished service.[4]

CAREER

Brigadier Bhupesh Hada was trained at National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and was commissioned in the Indian Army in 1991 , in Madras Regiment. He has served in the Machanised Infantry, Para Special Forces, Special Frontier Force and numerous other Headquarters and training institutions.

              During his 29 years of distinguished service, Brigadier Bhupesh Hada has commendably contributed in various operation like Op Rhino, Op Orchid, Rakshak, Kargil Vijay, Op Parakaram, Falcon, Op Meghdut. With the Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, various Central Armed Police Forces extensively with the armies of friendly foreign countries. Brig Hada was instrumental in conceptualizing, planning and execution of an outstanding mountaineering expedition to Mount Everest (8848 Mtr) and Mount Lhotse (8516 Mtr) in 2012. A natural motivator, he led from front, defying his age and setting an example for all by summiting Mount Everest.

GALLANTRY AWARDS

        For his act of courage amd distinguished service, he has been awarded Saurya chakra, Vishisht Seva Medal,Army Cheif Commendation, GOC-in-C Commendation, United Nation Commanders Commendation along with Parakram Padak for sustaining bullet injuries during mission.
       After successfully commanding Siachin Brigade,he is spearheading the Force One at National Security Guards (NSG). He has summited mount Everest on 25th May 2012 and has participated in numners ultra  Marathos.
      He belongs to Bundi and is extremely passionate about birth place and people and has immensely contributed in carrying forward the great legacy of Harauti.
      For his gallantry and outstanding services he has received the following awards :- 
 

(a) Shaurya Chakra – Awarded in 1999 for anti terrorist operations. (b) Vishist Seva Medal – Awarded in 2019 for commendable work done in Siachen Glacier. (c) Prakram Medal – Awarded on being wounded during a mission. (d) Army Chief’s Commendation Badge – Awarded twice, once in 1997 for anti terrorist operations in J&K and second in 2013 for adventure activities. (e) Army Commander’s Commendation Badge - Awarded in 1993 for anti terrorist operations in Assam. (f) UN Force Commander’s Appreciation Card – Awarded in 2003 for distinguished services in peacekeeping mission in Ethiopia – Eritrea.


     He successful commanded the challenging Siachen Brigade and was Deputy GOC and Station Commander Jodhpur Sub Area before joining as DIG at the elite National Security Guards (NSG) also known as ‘Black Cats'.
