An objection you will see raised to the use of the Gini statistic is that it only measures income and not wealth. That is it measures the flow of wealth. This is correct and it is also a measure of the health and goodness of the society in question since the propertied classes are invariably the sinks of the value of the goods and services produced by the remaining classes in the given society.
If «free» or at least better utilized productive forces perform better than the other kind, future economic performance should be directly proportional to the statistic (i.e. the "parameter" plus error) or a derived function thereof showing its trend. Given an assumption of rationality for said forces this relation is necessary. Drafting some ideas for extrapolation and interpretation of the statistic in the case of an unavailable official value or a purportedly socialist state.

Global Gini
[edit]Above about 3 years old ATM, have since seen figure for the global Gini of a bit less than .9 where the difference from what you would expect based on the individual state Gini's becomes clear once you see that that global upper income groups are now compared to other global class formations rather than those in their home states . 72.228.177.92 (talk) 20:53, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
