Mobile view
[edit]- the Vector skin really doesn't have a "mobile view" of its own?
- the "apps" are separate builds? They don't just feed the mobile view into a container?
- In Settings –> User Preferences
- What is "limited view"? Can desc be rewritten to not simply restate the label?
- All the date format options are wordy. DDMMYYYY ##:## = smaller
- Which gadgets work for mobile editors? Some break the mobile edit interface. I h8. A lot.
- In mobile view VE,
- Under Font Style, why no h1, h2? Does super/subscript really come up more often? Big text/small text, huh?
- (What is the Language option?) This seems to have no public-facing effect? What is the point of all these languages on this list?
- Some way to make bullets and indent them would be nice.
- Optional syntax highlighting would also be sweet.
- Why no VE in talk pages?
- On watchlist, contributions, recent changes, does a mobile editor really need to see those tags or filter by type? Why would a nonregistered mobile non-editor care about this? Why not turn them off by default and toggle on in prefs?
- I hate tables and fixed width boxes, even as a non-editor. Category:1930s in Scotland <-- there's a BOX at the top with years. It looks crazy.
- Impossible to interact with Wikiproject pages --> Maybe "View as wiki page" should be the default for mobile view? This would also help w Talk pages maybe
App
[edit]- Nice options like font size, sepia, etc. But only for article namespace which ugh, for real? It turns to mobile view
- No direct access to user page or user sandboxes seems to invite experimenting in live article space
- No direct access to watchlist or anything involving the community
- The editor is source editing w syntax highlighting. There is no VE
- The buttons down below are
ok?Amazing! Bullets, brackets, even little nudgy buttons!?!! Why don't they give me those here? - Find and replace!
- The mobile view has a real citation maker. The app only gives you empty ref tags.
- Not sure about the link maker in app.
- The buttons down below are
- Talk pages are ok but
- weird "about"
- have to scroll to bottom of article to get there?
- H8 the thing in my browser always prompting open in app now
