[edit]Vestigial can refer to other conditions, such as twinning, where masses of tissue and organs are absorbed and grow within the embryo. One of these conditions is fetus in fetu, where a twin develops in the abdomen of another twin. [1]
In Popular Culture
[edit]Vestigial twinning is referenced in the American television show Family Guy, in Season 12, Episode Two, entitled Vestigial Peter. Peter discovers he has a vestigial twin growing out of his shoulder and decides to get it removed. [2]
