Bio
[edit]About me
[edit]I am a student at a community college that wants to be successful in life. I've played soccer my whole life and I am now playing for a college. I like music and if you see me in person you probably will see that I wear earbuds everywhere. I have an interest in real estate and I want to see if that will be my thing. English isn't my favorite subject and reading isn't something I enjoy.
My Wikipedia interest
[edit]Something that I would like to see more on Wikipedia is sports stuff. I enjoy sports and I feel like that's the thing I know the best. I know a little bit of every sport and every sport has its interesting things, either in teams or as individuals.[1]
Article Evaluation
[edit]I've noticed that streaming video games have been a huge thing to do around the world lately. I personally watch some famous people myself and it is a very interesting thing to watch. I visited the Video Game Live Streaming article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: Are any of the links dead, is this article up to date, and is anything left out of the article that should be there.
Are the Links Dead
[edit]I've notices that there are a couple of red marks in this article and you can only wonder why. The two things that are marked are two streamers, both being males. These two streamers have both not streamed in over a year, this tells me that they should not be in the article because they are not relevant anymore. This article needs people who are well known to make it interesting and maybe people will actually click on the links and read about them.
Is This Article up to Date
[edit]From the last paragraph I say how the two streamers have not streamed in over a year which means that it is not up to date. However if you go to the references and see how far back the last article is from it is since April, 2022. Twitch launched in 2011 and the latest article there is 2015. I would say this whole article is somewhat up to date but could be updated because the amount of people that know about streaming is crazy.
Is anything left out of the Article that Should be There
[edit]I think yes there is. There should be examples of people on some of these streaming platforms. Where it shows when the streaming platforms launched some do not have a date on them and some do not even show who the owner is.
Conclusion
[edit]Overall this article was okay on summarizing the basics of live streaming video games. It does a great job on how it could be a good thing or a bad thing. I couldn't say this would be the article to read to see if this would be something you would want to do but it is not terrible. Other than that there are not too much dead links which is good, the article could do a little better on getting more recent information and I think there is a lot left out for how big streaming video games is.
