Arch Echo is an American instrumental metal band formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2016.
History
[edit]The band formed in mid-2016 when guitarist Adam Rafowitz and keyboardist Joey Izzo, then students at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, decided to collaborate on new music for each of their respective solo musical projects. However, rather than work for each other they opted to arrange their songwriting for a band.[1][2] A group was assembled in a short amount of time soon after.[1] It was then when they recruited guitarist Adam Bentley and bassist Joe Calderone. Martinez, who was looking to join a band at the time of his arrival, shared a mutual friend with Bentley who assisted the band when they relocated to Nashville, Tennnessee.[2] The five continue to work jobs in the music industry in various capacities.[1]
In May 2017, the band released their debut full length album, Arch Echo. It originated from a collection of demos that Rafowitz and Izzo had produced that were then developed by the band, while other tracks are individual compositions.[1] They chose to release it independently, without assistance from a record label.[2] The band supported its release with a 13-date US tour in November 2017, playing the album in its entirety.
Though primarily an instrumental band, the group have not ruled out the possibility of having a featured guest vocalist on future songs.[2]
