Louis de Villiers. Born in Johannesburg 1958. Moved to Cape Town 1987 following my French Huguenot roots back to where my grandfather left for the Free State in the 1930's. Started my post-school university studies in Bloemfontein which I found a very interesting place and where I learnt to appreciate Afrikaans librarian, historian and author Karel Schoeman who wrote a novel Waar ek gelukkig was (Where I was happy) about Bloemfontein and the Free State, a title which became a motto for myself.
