New article name is Christopher Charles Pond Chris Pond (Christopher Charles Pond, born 1949) is an historian, librarian, and local politician based in Loughton Essex. He was educated at the Monoux Grammar School Walthamstow and Queens' College Cambridge. He published as joint author his first local history for the Walthamstow Historical Society in 1970, and has some sixty titles on local and parliamentary history in the British Library catalogue. He was an officer of the House of Commons Library from 1975 to 2007, and President of the House of Commons Trade Union Side from 1991 to 2008, for which he was awarded the OBE in 2002 and honorary fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Librarians and Information Professionals in 2006. He became a councillor on Loughton Town Council in 1996 and on Essex County Council in 2005.
