I am a journalist/broadcaster/editor/DTP producer based in Athens, Greece. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey in the U.S.A. in 1951, I attended Lord Sterling Grammar School, Roosevelt Junior High School, New Brunswick High School and Livingston College (Rutgers University), all in my home town. I was sports editor of my high school newspaper Brunswick Highlights, associate editor of the first newspaper at Livingston College, Mudslide, and sports writer for the Rutgers Daily Targum at Rutgers University. Also during my high school days I wrote a weekly column for The National Herald, The Jersey Scene, which I continued writing until I left for Greece in 1978. After receiving my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Rutgers University in 1973, I began my professional career in the news media with my home town daily newspaper, The Home News, first as a copy boy and then as a sports writer. I continued my career as a sports writer for The News Tribune daily newspaper in Woodbridge, New Jersey and as sports editor of the weekly newspaper out of Piscataway, New Jersey, the pd review. The highlight of working for these newspapers was covering the professional soccer team, New York Cosmos. I had the opportunity to travel with the team which included the great Pele, Franz Beckenbauer, Giorgio Chinaglia, Carlos Alberto and other outstanding players. I also helped create Greek Star Soccer Club out of New Brunswick which played in the second division of the Italian-American Soccer League of New Jersey. In 1973 I created and hosted The Voice of Greece radio program which was heard on WRSU-FM out of New Brunswick. In 1976 I created and hosted together with Thucydides (Duke) Markos, Greek Odyssey radio program which was heard on WJDM-AM out of Elizabeth, New Jersey. I married in 1978 and in the same year left for Greece where I continued my career in journalism as a foreign correspondent and working for local news media. Among the news media I worked for included Agence France-Press (AFP), Reuters, London Daily News, Birmingham Evening Mail, Yorkshire Post, World Soccer, Saudi Gazette, Mutual Broadcasting System, South China Morning Post, Independent Radio News (IRN), Global Radio News (GRN), Gulf Times and others. The highlight of my career in broadcasting was to help create Athens International Radio (AIR 104.4 FM) in Greece in time for the Athens Olympic Games of 2004.
