[edit]

I live in a tiny village called Odimbwa situated at the northern side of Namibia in Omusati region ,Etayi constituency. It is 367 miles(591 Km) north of Windhoek.it's geographical coordinates are 17° 28'0" south,15° 30'10"east.it's 20 Km from the border between Angola and Namibia.According to the 2001 census it covers about 21 square kilometers.

According to the Namibia 2001 population and housing census,Odimbwa village had 80 houses ,whereby children are more than parents(elders). The most commonly language at home is Oshikwanyama.Among household not even half of the population of the village use safe water ,no toilet facilities, television access even though most of the population have access to radios.

Our village features a school called Ekangolinene combined school, which is named because of a big 'Oshana'near the school. In addition, there is also a hospital named Odimbwa clinic where villagers and neighbouring villagers get medical treatments. It's neighbouring villagers are:Oshalembe,Okandi,Onheleiwa,Onamhindi and others.Furthermore, there is also a church in our village called Odimbwa Elcin church.

We do also have a headman in our village Tate Joseph Mhuku. He make sure there is peace in the village and the rules and laws are followed ,thus order in the village. In terms of households, main sources of income in the village is farming, wages and salaries to those who works, pensions to the old ones, orphans and vulnerable children, businesses and other sources. We do also have a small marketing place near the school called Oshimengula where you can find a big store named Vendeb mini market, where we buy our daily needs.

We also keep domestic animals like cattle, goats, chickens, pigs, donkeys, dogs, cats and others. We use donkeys and cattle for transpotation and ploughing our fields.Chickens and pigs are used for consumption. We are blessed with naturals trees which bear fruits such as marula trees, palm trees and others which are also palatable to the villagers. We also have trees for shelters, fire wood and some are also palatable to our domestic animals such as thorn trees, mopane trees.
