The identities of LiuHe BaFa or as LokHop PatFat in Cantonese can be confusing. Separated, Lok-Hop-Chuan and Pat-Fat-Chuan are also separate boxing systems [some derived from ShaoLin-style and some developed outside of ShaoLin]. The so-called LokHop-PatFat or LiuHe-BaFa is a composite of both in forms, but adheres more to the principles of each, but with an practice exercise more as the now called Tai-Chi-Chuan. Similar to the Chen-Family Style of Tai-Chi-, LHBF is also derived from older pre-Song Dynasty martial forms and principles, but its lineage is older.
