On 22 September 1995, a United States Air Force Boeing E-3 Sentry,Airborne Warning and Control Systems aircraft crashed just after takeoff at Elmendorf Air Force Base,Alaska due to the ingestion of Canadian Geese in the left Number 1 and Number 2 engines resulting in a loss of thrust and impact into terrain.All 24 crewmembers perrished in the crash,including two Royal Canadian Air Force crewmembers.
