Tiny bio:

I'm a software and electrical engineer who's been building stuff for over 35 years.

I was born in Seattle, WA USA but I grew up in a number of places including Del Mar (part of San Diego, CA) and Burnaby (near Vancouver) BC, Canada.

My dad was a biochemical researcher who worked at the University of Washington most of his career; my mom was a literature and drama professor (also at UW and several community colleges around Western WA State).

I finished my schooling at Seattle Pacific University but I also studied in Portland, OR, France and Germany as well as a very brief class in China in 1982.

I live north of Seattle on Puget Sound.

I've been married to the same brilliant woman since 1982 and I have one daughter who was born in 1988.

I mostly hate politics and stick to science and technology - my political views are: I'm socially liberal, fiscally conservative and ruthlessly pragmatic. If it ain't working, toss it and start again.
