Mindless eating can be defined as eating food without paying adequate attention to what and how much is being eaten. It can also be defined as unnecessary eating because of the environment around us.
2. the causes to mindless eating[2]
why we eat more than we think? There are mainly three aspects. First, the environment can influence how much we eat. For example, our dishware size, the friends eating with us, watching TV or doing anything else while eating can all influence how much we eat. Second, our mind can influence how much we eat. How much we think we should eat really matters. However, most people don't realize how much they have eaten and how much they should eat. The third cause is the sensory of food, which decide whether we like the food.
3. method to reduce mindless eating[3]
dishware size can affect the amount of we eat. To reduce mindless eating, we ca reduce our dishware size.However, most people don't even recognize the size of their dishware when they are eating. Also, there is another cause of mindless eating: emotional eating, which means that people may eat more when they feel unhappy. This is because some people lack emotional self-care, and this is what have to be treated. Also, if people can recognize that their eating environment is very significant to how much they eat, or they think they should eat less, they are likely reduce mindless eating.
